Als Folgema\u00dfnahme zu einem fr\u00fcheren Artikel \u00fcber Sturzhelme zum Verkauf auf einer Motorradmesse<\/a> (in diesem Fall die phantastische Carole Nash Show im Birmingham NEC), m\u00f6chte ich ein Wort der Warnung aussprechen:<\/p>\n

Wenn es zu sch\u00f6n aussieht, um wahr zu sein, ist es das meistens auch!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Tut mir leid, wenn ich wie Ihr Gro\u00dfvater klinge, aber ich bin ein Schn\u00e4ppchenj\u00e4ger. Als ich also das AGV S-4 sah, dachte ich:Ich nehme einen Schluck davon, vielen Dank.<\/em>.' Wie sich herausstellte, ist der S-4 ein Faserverbundhelm, der beim SHARP-Crashhelmtest mit 5 Sternen bewertet wurde. Ich war also sehr erfreut, als ich ihn auf der Messe f\u00fcr 45 \u00a3 fand!<\/p>\n

Aber da ich auch einen Craft Kohlefaserhelm (sieht sehr cool aus) und einen alten Shoei (sehr praktisch) habe, sa\u00df er eine Weile auf einem Regal in der Garage und sammelte Staub. Also dachte ich mir, ich hole ihn heraus und nehme ihn mit zu einer k\u00fcrzlichen Spritztour \u00fcber die Pennines, um die Bel\u00fcftungs\u00f6ffnungen zu reinigen und einen guten Blick auf das Visier problem zu werfen. Die Vorhersage war trocken, ich hatte einen vollen Tank, und los ging's.<\/p>\n

Problem Nr.1.<\/strong> Ich nahm den Helm am Kinnschutz und dr\u00fcckte mit einem Daumen auf eines der L\u00fcftungsgitter. Ein kleines Schnappger\u00e4usch! Eines der Gitter dr\u00fcckt jetzt leicht ein, wo es nicht sein sollte. Oh, Mist.<\/p>\n

Abgesehen davon ist der Helm sch\u00f6n leicht (1,35 kg ist ziemlich leicht f\u00fcr einen Integralhelm) und passt gut. Ich habe festgestellt, dass in der Vergangenheit \u00fcber AGVs - w\u00e4hrend die Shoei und Craft ber\u00fchren Sie Ihren Kopf ganz, die AGV scheint das Styropor leicht weg von Ihrem Kopf durch die Verwendung von erh\u00f6hten Wange und Stirn-Pads, die ein sch\u00f6nes Gef\u00fchl, dass Sie nicht wirklich tragen einen Sturzhelm zu heben. Seltsam, aber sch\u00f6n.<\/p>\n

Wie dem auch sei, ich raste \u00fcber meine \u00f6rtliche Strecke, sorry A-Stra\u00dfe, und vorhersehbar - da das Wetterm\u00e4dchen sagte, es w\u00fcrde sch\u00f6n und trocken sein - begann es zu regnen. Was macht man also, wenn das Visier verschwommen ist? Man wischt es mit seinem Handschuh ab. Und das war der Punkt, an dem problem Nr. 2 offensichtlich wurde. Es war n\u00e4mlich wirklich schwer, das Visier zu reinigen. W\u00e4hrend das Wischen mit dem Handschuh bei meinen anderen Helmen das Visier frei macht, schien es hier zu verschwimmen. Und wenn es dann trocken wurde, als es aufh\u00f6rte zu regnen, sah es so aus, als ob das Visier von innen beschlagen w\u00e4re - und selbst das Aufbrechen des Visiers half nicht weiter.<\/p>\n

Das war alles sehr merkw\u00fcrdig. Aber erst als ich nach Hause kam und das Visier \u00fcberpr\u00fcfte, fand ich das problem. Es beschlug \u00fcberhaupt nicht - das verdammte Ding kratzte! Alles, was ich beim Abwischen des Visiers getan hatte, war, zig winzige Kratzer in die Oberfl\u00e4che des Visiers zu machen, so dass es jetzt aussieht, als sei es nass und getrocknet worden! Nach etwa 30 Minuten Fahrt und Wischen war das Visier so tr\u00fcbe, dass es nicht mehr zu gebrauchen war. Also habe ich es nicht getan. Ich klappte das Visier hoch und verbrachte die ganze Heimfahrt damit, mir den Streusplitt (reimt sich sowieso auf Streusplitt!) aus den Augen zu wischen und den H\u00e4ndler zu verfluchen (dazu sp\u00e4ter mehr).<\/p>\n

Das ist tragisch (oder k\u00f6nnte es sein!), und das nach 1 Stunde Fahrt im Nieselregen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Nun, ich bin schon gefahren, bevor in den 80er Jahren das Gesetz gegen Kratzvisiere in Kraft trat. Aber falls Sie das nicht wissen: Visiere waren fr\u00fcher aus Plexiglas und man klapperte durch die Dinger. Es war nicht ungew\u00f6hnlich, dass man sie jeden Monat austauschen musste, weil sie so stark zerkratzt waren. Die meiste Zeit fuhr man also mit halb undurchsichtigen Visieren herum, die bei Tageslicht einen unheimlich staubigen Anblick boten, als w\u00fcrde man durch ein lose gewebtes Leichentuch blicken - was bei vielen Fahrern auch der Fall gewesen sein k\u00f6nnte, da sie viele Unf\u00e4lle verursachten und schlie\u00dflich dazu f\u00fchrten, dass Anti-Kratz-Visiere Pflicht wurden. Wir st\u00f6hnten wie die Verr\u00fcckten, weil Anti-Kratz-Visiere wirklich teuer waren - aber wir verstummten schnell, als wir die Offenbarung einer klaren, nicht beschlagenen Sicht und einer Lebenserwartung hatten, die in Jahrzehnten und nicht in Stunden gemessen wurde.<\/p>\n

Heutzutage sind sie f\u00fcr uns selbstverst\u00e4ndlich. Oder ich h\u00e4tte es getan, w\u00e4re da nicht meine letzte Fahrt gewesen! Und ich hatte nicht eine Minute lang daran gedacht, dass ich beim Kauf eines neuen Sturzhelms das Visier auf Kratzfestigkeit \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen sollte. Ich hatte sogar erwartet, dass es illegal w\u00e4re, einen Helm ohne kratzfestes Visier zu verkaufen (was auch der Fall ist - aber wie man das feststellt, ist umstritten - mehr dazu in einem sp\u00e4teren Artikel).<\/p>\n

Also habe ich ein bisschen recherchiert und herausgefunden, dass es viele Leute gibt, die das gleiche pro-Problem mit dem S-4 und den Stealth-Modellen haben. Ein Typ hat sich sogar mit einer Reihe von AGV-Leuten unterhalten und herausgefunden, dass es daran liegt, dass sie die Herstellung einiger ihrer \"unteren\" Helme nach China ausgelagert haben und bei den Anti-Kratz- und Anti-Beschlag-Beschichtungen der Visiere Abstriche gemacht haben. Offenbar werden Kratztests unter trockenen Bedingungen durchgef\u00fchrt, und so konnten diese Visiere den Test bestehen. Ich finde es schwer zu glauben, dass sie bei der Geschwindigkeit und dem Ausma\u00df, in dem mein Visier zerkratzt ist, irgendeinen Test bestehen, aber ich habe keinen Grund, seine Ergebnisse anzuzweifeln.<\/p>\n

Ich werde mich also mit AGV in Verbindung setzen und sehen, ob sie die Sache in Ordnung bringen. Meiner Meinung nach k\u00f6nnen diese Visiere t\u00f6dlich sein und sollten zumindest zur\u00fcckgezogen und ersetzt werden - selbst wenn der Helm zu einem Sonderpreis gekauft wurde. In meinem Fall habe ich ihn bei George White gekauft, und ich w\u00fcrde wieder zu ihnen gehen, wenn sie nicht letztes Jahr pleite gegangen w\u00e4ren. Bis dahin steht er wieder im Regal, um weiter Staub zu sammeln. Hoffentlich wird AGV das Richtige tun.
