Pero, sobre todo, la fibra de vidrio se utiliza como uno de los componentes de un <a href=\"http:\/\/billyscrashhelmets.co.uk\/es\/acerca-de-los-cascos-de-seguridad-de-fibra-compuesta\/\">casco de fibra compuesta<\/a>. Suelen incluir en la mezcla otros materiales, como fibra de carbono y kevlar.<\/p>\n<p>En la imagen se puede ver una de las primeras etapas de la fabricaci\u00f3n de un casco Arai: la creaci\u00f3n de un \"sombrero de paja\" de fibra de vidrio de alta calidad (lo que Arai denomina superfibras) para darle forma a la calota del casco antes de superponer otros materiales.<\/p>\n<p>La fibra de vidrio puede utilizarse en forma de esteras \"ordenadas\", similares al tejido de fibra de carbono. Pero, como se puede ver en la imagen, tambi\u00e9n tiene una resistencia multidireccional cuando se utiliza con el m\u00e9todo del \"filamento cortado\", en el que las fibras se cortan y se colocan en direcciones aleatorias antes de introducirlas en la resina.
