C'est juste qu'ils n'ont pas l'habitude de faire des visites, je suppose que les temps d'arr\u00eat sont synonymes de perte de production. Mais le week-end de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement Triumph Live \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur du centre du patrimoine \u00e0 Gaydon, c'est exactement ce que Triumph a fait. Nous avons achet\u00e9 nos billets pour l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement en avance et, sans crier gare, nous avons re\u00e7u une invitation pour une visite de l'usine d'Hinkley le vendredi apr\u00e8s-midi avant l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement. Fantastique.<\/p>\n<p>Nous sommes donc partis, ne sachant pas \u00e0 quoi nous attendre - et ne nous attendant certainement pas \u00e0 pouvoir acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l'ensemble de l'usine avec le personnel pr\u00e9sent, d\u00e9tendu et serviable, pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 toutes les questions.<\/p>\n<p>Nous nous sommes gar\u00e9s parmi les masses de Triumph descendues et nous nous sommes dirig\u00e9s vers une porte ouverte sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 du b\u00e2timent de l'usine. L\u00e0, nous avons trouv\u00e9 des employ\u00e9s heureux et souriants qui nous ont montr\u00e9 o\u00f9 poser notre \u00e9quipement et nous ont donn\u00e9 un petit mot sur ce que nous allions voir - puis nous sommes partis vers l'aire d'exp\u00e9dition.<\/p>\n<p>C'\u00e9tait incroyable de voir des rang\u00e9es et des rang\u00e9es de v\u00e9los termin\u00e9s, emball\u00e9s, mis en bo\u00eete et empil\u00e9s sur des \u00e9tag\u00e8res, pr\u00eats \u00e0 \u00eatre exp\u00e9di\u00e9s. Et les pi\u00e8ces de rechange aussi - une rang\u00e9e massive de jantes avant et arri\u00e8re de 675 - nous les avons ramass\u00e9es. Elles \u00e9taient incroyablement l\u00e9g\u00e8res pour la puissance et les contraintes qu'elles doivent supporter. Et le personnel de Triumph a fait preuve de fair-play - tant que nous respections les itin\u00e9raires qu'ils avaient trac\u00e9s, ils \u00e9taient heureux que nous prenions autant de photos que nous le souhaitions et que nous manipulions le mat\u00e9riel qui tra\u00eenait par terre. Apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 une zone o\u00f9 se trouvaient des moteurs de Daytona 675 et quelques motos en pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9tach\u00e9es, nous sommes entr\u00e9s dans la zone de production proper, la premi\u00e8re partie \u00e9tant remplie de fraiseuses, de polisseuses et de fours o\u00f9 sont finis les vilebrequins, les carters et les blocs-cylindres.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-2' ?\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Pour \u00eatre tout \u00e0 fait honn\u00eate, nous ne nous attendions pas \u00e0 ce que ce niveau d'ing\u00e9nierie soit r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en interne. De nos jours, une grande partie de ce type d'ing\u00e9nierie est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e hors site dans des usines de fabrication, les pi\u00e8ces \u00e9tant assembl\u00e9es dans une usine de montage. Mais ici, \u00e0 Hinkley, les composants moul\u00e9s sont apport\u00e9s et finis sur place avant d'\u00eatre achemin\u00e9s vers la cha\u00eene d'assemblage. Nous avons vu des fraiseuses et des machines \u00e0 polir, ainsi qu'un \u00e9norme four o\u00f9 sont cuits 16 types de manivelles diff\u00e9rents. Nous avons \u00e9galement vu des culasses Rocket 3 et Thunderbird Storm \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents stades d'usinage. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos, Triumph a mis en place des expositions des diff\u00e9rents composants pour que nous puissions en prendre plein les yeux. Je pensais que mes cylindres Rocket III \u00e9taient assez gros - jusqu'\u00e0 ce que je voie les culasses Thunderbird Storm. Ils \u00e9taient gigantesques.<\/p>\n<p>C'est ainsi que nous sommes pass\u00e9s au meilleur moment : la cha\u00eene de montage. Il semblait y avoir quatre mod\u00e8les en cours d'assemblage lorsque nous avons fait le tour : la Rocket 3, la Thunderbird Storm, la Tiger et (je crois) une Street Triple. Tout d'abord, nous avons vu les moteurs - de gros blocs massifs sur un tapis roulant. D'\u00e9normes racks de composants, tous \u00e9tiquet\u00e9s et stock\u00e9s dans des bacs, des trugs et des \u00e9tag\u00e8res. Des bo\u00eetes d'arbres \u00e0 cames et des racks d'embouts arri\u00e8re de Rocket. Depuis le tapis roulant qui permet d'assembler les cadres et les moteurs, ceux-ci sont ensuite hiss\u00e9s sur un syst\u00e8me a\u00e9rien qui maintient les motos \u00e0 hauteur de personne afin que le reste de la moto puisse \u00eatre ajout\u00e9 - c\u00e2blage, fourches, roues, r\u00e9servoirs, etc. etc. Tout cela avait l'air incroyablement organis\u00e9, propre et bien rang\u00e9, mais je suppose que c'est \u00e0 cela que ressemblent toutes les cha\u00eenes de production de pro de nos jours. J'ai eu la chance de visiter l'usine McLaren F1 \u00e0 Woking il y a quelques ann\u00e9es et j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 sid\u00e9r\u00e9 par la propret\u00e9 irr\u00e9prochable de leurs ateliers - tout blanc et literally pas une goutte d'huile ni le moindre grain de poussi\u00e8re (ce Ron Dennis doit \u00eatre un r\u00eave de vivre avec lui - \"Nah laisse tomber, on nettoiera demain matin On ne peut pas vraiment se faire une id\u00e9e de ce qui s'y passe, car il y a un tas de v\u00e9los tr\u00e8s brillants et tr\u00e8s finis qui tra\u00eenent, pr\u00eats \u00e0 \u00eatre mis \u00e0 l'\u00e9preuve. Il y en avait un ou deux avec des \u00e9tiquettes mentionnant des d\u00e9fauts et des ajustements \u00e0 faire, donc je suppose que leur processus pro fonctionne et qu'ils d\u00e9tectent tous les probl\u00e8mes pro avant qu'ils ne quittent la porte.<\/p>\n<p>Tout cela a abouti au spectacle \u00e9trange d'un v\u00e9lo sur un banc pr\u00eat \u00e0 \u00eatre ensach\u00e9 et mis en bo\u00eete. Certains v\u00e9los doivent \u00e9galement \u00eatre partiellement d\u00e9mont\u00e9s pour \u00eatre exp\u00e9di\u00e9s, en fonction de leur destination. Apparemment, des pays comme le Br\u00e9sil imposent de lourdes taxes sur l'importation de machines compl\u00e8tes, si bien qu'elles doivent \u00eatre exp\u00e9di\u00e9es en kit, pour \u00eatre remont\u00e9es \u00e0 la livraison et \u00e9viter les taxes d'importation. C'\u00e9tait une blague de la part de Triumph d'ouvrir leurs portes \u00e0 nous tous - gratuitement - et d'\u00eatre si d\u00e9tendus \u00e0 propos de notre d\u00e9ambulation, de nos photos, de nos vid\u00e9os et de notre nuisance en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 le contr\u00f4le de qualit\u00e9, ils sont pr\u00eats pour l'ensachage et la mise en bo\u00eete.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Non, cela nous a laiss\u00e9s, moi et mon fr\u00e8re pilote de Ducati, avec rien d'autre que des remerciements pour Triumph - et l'\u00e9tonnement de l'excellent travail qu'ils font pour maintenir cette marque fantastique et la gamme de motos. Ayant la quarantaine, je me souviens de la fermeture de l'usine de Meriden et je suppose que les motos ont toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 l'\u00e9tranger. C'est donc formidable de pouvoir visiter une usine de motos britanniques qui, selon moi, fabrique certaines des meilleures et des plus excentriques des motos disponibles (j'aime l'excentrique) et de voir na\u00eetre des motos britanniques.<\/p>\n<p>Merci Triumph et bonne chance \u00e0 toi !<\/p>\n<p>Pour finir, voici quelques extraits vid\u00e9o que j'ai tourn\u00e9s pendant la tourn\u00e9e.
