Di solito non fanno visite guidate, immagino che i tempi di inattivit\u00e0 equivalgano a una perdita di produzione. Ma nel fine settimana dell'evento Triumph Live fuori dal centro storico di Gaydon, Triumph ha fatto proprio cos\u00ec. Abbiamo acquistato in anticipo i biglietti per l'evento e, di punto in bianco, abbiamo ricevuto un invito per un tour della fabbrica di Hinkley il venerd\u00ec pomeriggio prima dell'evento. Fantastico.<\/p>\n<p>Cos\u00ec siamo scesi, senza sapere cosa aspettarci, e di certo non ci aspettavamo di poter accedere all'intera fabbrica con il personale presente, rilassato e disponibile, a rispondere a qualsiasi domanda.<\/p>\n<p>Abbiamo parcheggiato tra le masse di Triumph in discesa e ci siamo diretti verso un cancello aperto sul lato dell'edificio della fabbrica. L\u00ec abbiamo trovato impiegati felici e sorridenti che ci hanno mostrato dove mettere la nostra attrezzatura e ci hanno dato una breve spiegazione su ci\u00f2 che avremmo visto, poi siamo entrati nell'area di spedizione.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 stato incredibile vedere file su file di moto completate, imbustate, inscatolate e impilate su scaffali pronti per la spedizione. E anche i pezzi di ricambio: un'enorme fila di cerchioni anteriori e posteriori della 675, che abbiamo ritirato. Erano incredibilmente leggeri per la potenza e le sollecitazioni che devono gestire. E il personale Triumph \u00e8 stato molto gentile: finch\u00e9 ci siamo attenuti ai percorsi tracciati, ci ha permesso di scattare tutte le foto che volevamo e di maneggiare l'attrezzatura che c'era in giro. Dopo aver attraversato un'area con alcuni motori Daytona 675 e alcune moto parzialmente costruite, siamo entrati nell'area di produzione proper, la prima parte piena di fresatrici, lucidatrici e forni Al giorno d'oggi, gran parte di questo tipo di progettazione viene eseguita fuori sede, in stabilimenti di produzione, mentre i pezzi vengono assemblati in un impianto di assemblaggio. Ma qui a Hinkley, i componenti fusi vengono portati e rifiniti in loco prima di essere trasferiti alla linea di assemblaggio. Abbiamo visto fresatrici e lucidatrici e un enorme forno dove vengono cotti 16 tipi diversi di manovelle. Abbiamo anche visto le teste dei cilindri Rocket 3 e Thunderbird Storm in varie fasi di lavorazione. Come si pu\u00f2 vedere dalle foto, Triumph ha allestito alcune esposizioni dei vari componenti per farci rimanere a bocca aperta. Pensavo che i miei cilindri Rocket III fossero abbastanza grandi, finch\u00e9 non ho visto i cilindri Thunderbird Storm. Erano enormi.<\/p>\n<p>E cos\u00ec siamo passati alla parte migliore: la catena di montaggio. Quando abbiamo fatto il giro, sembravano esserci quattro modelli in lavorazione: la Rocket 3, la Thunderbird Storm, la Tiger e (credo) una Street Triple. Per prima cosa abbiamo visto i motori: grandi masse su un nastro trasportatore. Enormi scaffali di componenti, tutti etichettati e conservati in bidoni, carrelli e scaffali. Scatole e scatole di alberi a camme e scaffali di terminali posteriori Rocket. Dal nastro trasportatore per l'assemblaggio dei telai e dei motori, questi vengono poi issati su un sistema aereo che li tiene ad altezza d'uomo in modo da poter aggiungere il resto della moto: cablaggio, forcelle, ruote, serbatoi ecc. ecc. Sembrava tutto incredibilmente organizzato, pulito e ordinato, ma credo che al giorno d'oggi tutte le linee di production siano cos\u00ec. So che ho avuto la fortuna di visitare la fabbrica della McLaren F1 a Woking un paio di anni fa e sono rimasto sbalordito da quanto fossero pulite le loro officine: tutto bianco e non una goccia d'olio o il pi\u00f9 piccolo granello di polvere (Ron Dennis deve essere un sogno con cui vivere: \"Nah, lasciala l\u00ec, la metteremo in ordine domattina ;-)\").<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-4' Non si capisce molto di cosa stia succedendo, perch\u00e9 c'erano un sacco di moto molto lucide e molto rifinite, pronte per essere messe alla prova. Ce n'erano una o due con etichette che menzionavano difetti e modifiche da apportare, quindi immagino che il loro process stia funzionando e che stiano raccogliendo tutti gli problems prima che escano dalla porta.<\/p>\n<p>Il tutto \u00e8 culminato nel bizzarro spettacolo di una bicicletta su una panchina pronta per essere imbustata e inscatolata. Per la spedizione devono anche smontare parzialmente alcune moto, a seconda del luogo in cui vengono spedite. A quanto pare, paesi come il Brasile impongono un dazio pesante sull'importazione di moto complete, quindi devono essere spedite in kit, per essere riassemblate alla consegna ed evitare il dazio all'importazione. Una volta superato il controllo qualit\u00e0, sono pronti per l'imbustamento e l'inscatolamento.\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>No, ha lasciato a me e al mio amico ducatista solo ringraziamenti per Triumph e stupore per l'ottimo lavoro che stanno facendo per mantenere in vita questo fantastico marchio e questa gamma di motociclette. Avendo quarant'anni, ricordo la chiusura dello stabilimento di Meriden e credo che le moto siano sempre state prodotte all'estero. \u00c8 quindi fantastico poter girare per una fabbrica di moto britannica che, secondo me, produce alcune delle migliori e pi\u00f9 stravaganti moto disponibili (mi piacciono le stravaganze) e vedere nascere moto britanniche.<\/p>\n<p>Grazie Triumph e buona fortuna!<\/p>\n<p>Per finire, ecco alcuni frammenti di video che ho girato durante il tour.
