Speriamo che il casco finito non sia enorme come questo!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Sembra proprio che gli HUD (Heads up Display) stiano iniziando a prendere piede nel 2016.<\/p>\n

Prima c'\u00e8 stato il Skully AR1<\/a> la cui consegna \u00e8 prevista per l'estate del '16. E ora BMW Motorrad ha mostrato il suo primo casco HUD prototype.<\/p>\n

A prima vista, la versione BMW sembra un po' meno ambiziosa di quella di Skully. Presenta tutte le consuete caratteristiche che ci aspetteremmo di trovare, la principale delle quali \u00e8 il vetro del display posizionato davanti all'occhio destro del pilota. Come si pu\u00f2 vedere dal mockup del display qui sotto, questo mostra informazioni come velocit\u00e0, giri, marcia ecc. e c'\u00e8 anche promise di altre chicche, tra cui la guida del navigatore satellitare e le notifiche di incidenti.<\/p>\n

Ma la cosa interessante del sistema BMW, che potrebbe dargli un vantaggio sul mercato, \u00e8 il fatto che, essendo stato sviluppato internamente, potrebbe potenzialmente dare accesso a tutta la tecnologia installata a bordo delle macchine BMW. Ci\u00f2 significa che potrebbero accedere a tutti gli altri dati forniti dalla centralina e dai computer di bordo, compresi i livelli di carburante, la pressione degli pneumatici, le modalit\u00e0 del motore e cos\u00ec via. Si tratta di dati a cui i concorrenti di terze parti potrebbero faticare ad accedere, facendo apparire i loro sistemi un po' deboli.<\/p>\n

Ovviamente, \u00e8 discutibile la quantit\u00e0 di informazioni di cui il pilota ha bisogno, o vuole, prima che diventino una distrazione eccessiva. E credo che questo faccia parte del processo di prototyping e testing: trovare una giusta via di mezzo.<\/p>\n

Nel frattempo, sar\u00e0 interessante vedere come si svilupperanno queste tecnologie e a quale prezzo inizieranno ad arrivare sul mercato, e anche vedere quante persone le acquisteranno, dato che gran parte dell'attrattiva del motociclismo consiste nell'allontanarsi dalle distrazioni e concentrarsi solo sulla strada e sul paesaggio.<\/p>\n
