Caschi Arai Crash in vendita che non hanno raggiunto la valutazione di sicurezza a 4 e 5 stelle di SHARP

Here at Billy’s Crash Helmets, we try and focus on crash helmets that have been independently tested as offering top safety levels. We reckon that if you’ve got to wear a helmet, you might as well wear one that’s going to have a sporting chance of saving your skull if, heaven forbid, you’re involved in a crash. That’s why we’re focusing only on helmets that score 4 or 5 stars in the independent UK SHARP crash helmet safety test and binning off the rest. That way, you don’t have to trawl through all the helmets available on sale only to end up with a duff one that splits at the first sight of a kerb stone! Arai Crash helmets not 4 or 5 star

All you have to do is check out our helmet reviews (by clicking either the helmet brand name above or the reviews menu to see all brands) knowing you’re looking at only the best bonce protection money can buy – then choose from amongst those.

So if you’re searching the site and wondering why a crash helmet’s not here, then here’s a list of the Arai crash helmets we’re not going to review (and their SHARP star rating).

  • Arai Chaser (3 Star)
  • Arai Astro (3 Star)
  • Arai Condor (2 Star)
  • Arai Quantum (3 Star)
  • Arai RX7 Corsair (3 Star)
  • Arai Viper GT (3 Star)

For more information on crash helmet safety – all which pretty much supports why we’re focusing only on 4 & 5 star helmets – check our Safety tag area.

  1. Where are Bell?
My son was killed in a low speed accident close to home wearing an expensive Arai helmet which split down the front.
The helmet was purchased and professionally fitted in the IoM TT paddock. I wonder how many TT riders have been killed due to helmet failure.
We own 4 other Arai helmets two of which are new, all 4 will never be used again. My sons new Colin Edwards helmet now lives in a glass case signed by his mates. We now have two Bell helmets 5* on Sharp.
19% of impacts are frontal, Arai helmets are very weak in this location. The An Garda Síochána have sent the destroyed helmet for testing – shocked at the catastrophic failure of this helmet.

    • Desperately sorry to hear about your loss John – every parent’s worst nightmare. Obviously, I don’t know about the exact circumstances of your son’s accident or the helmet he was wearing; and if you bought the helmets in the TT paddock, you’d hope they were genuine Arais and correctly fitted. What I do know by looking at the SHARP testing data is that Arai helmets seem to be scoring better marks over the last few years with most scoring four or five stars (previously, they were definitely in 3 star territory). Which is no consolation to you of course. Previously, some people reckon they tended to be designed towards passing Snell tests which I believe generally required a harder and less flexible shell – you can read more qui e qui.
