We carefully select which retailers we recommend to our customers. Each of our recommended retailers must add something marvellous to you. They might be a total pleasure to buy from; have feedback systems where customers can rate their performance; offer an unrivalled level of choice or lowest prices – or offer great service when things go wrong and you need to return stuff.
And preferably do all of the above!
Below, we’ve listed out why you should choose one of our recommended retailers and provided quick links to jump to pages on their websites to find the latest ordering/returns info. Plus you can see at-a-glance some of their key terms and conditions, returns and delivery policies.
Disclosure: as always, should you follow one of our links and buy anything, we get a small % of the sale price at no extra cost to you – the price you see using our links is the same as going to the site directly.
Note: all helmet returns/exchanges to all retailers need to be in as-new condition with tags and stickers attached in original packaging. If they’re not, they won’t accept them back.
SBS are based near Boston, Lincolnshire, UK, hold stock for a wide range of helmets (and other gear) and are known for managing the online store for MotorCycleNews. Most of us love shopping at Amazon, so we link into some helmet suppliers there too. On Amazon, you get loads of different stores and sellers offering helmets and gear for sale so make sure you check out their ratings before you buy and only buy from the most reputable sellers. Doing that’ll help you avoid buying non-genuine helmets too.
Brexit update – in the UK and ordering from Europe?
It used to be the case that there were great savings to be made buying from Europe. But since the Brexit announcement, prices have broadly reversed with it now being widely cheaper to order gear from UK stores.
That’s not to say there aren’t some lower prices to be found in Europe and they sometimes carry different stock from UK sellers (so do click the links to double check on our Eu recommended retailers websites below) – but in general, if you’re in the UK, we now recommend buying from UK retailers. That means you’ll benefit from free delivery (and usually free returns) too – and if anything does go wrong with your order, it’s easier to communicate in the same language (if English is your native language of course!). Plus you’re protected by UK distance buying regulations.
If you’re buying from Europe, you may well find buying from UK retailers is now cheaper than buying from a shop in your own country too.
Motoin are a German online store with excellent customer reviews, scoring 4.7/5 on eTrustedshops at the time of writing (for their latest scores, click the links in the table below). Note, orders can take 3-5 days to be dispatched, though they usually do it more quickly. Motoin have a 100 days return policy.

FC-Moto are a German retailer based in Wurselen near Aachen. We include FC-Moto mainly because they usually offer a massive range of helmets and designs and often have low prices (even since the announcement of Brexit) – so if you’re after choice and reasonable prices, they’re worth a look.
Drawbacks: We’re starting to phase out our links to FC-Moto, mainly because their customer review scores have dropped over the past couple of years (see link below for their latest scores). Also, where most of our UK shops offer free shipping within the UK, FC-Moto’s prices do not include shipping costs (you can find their delivery rates on the links below). Their returns policies are a bit more stingy too – 30 day no quibble returns – though that’s probably OK for most of us. Note, because they’re based outside the UK, their helmets won’t come with an ACU Gold sticker on – that’s only an issue if you’re wanting to take your helmet on the track and doesn’t affect how legal it is on the road (that’s ECE 22.05 approval which all EU helmets must have). They can take a while to actually despatch goods too – they quote 5-7 days on their website – so if you’re after your helmet quickly, you’re probably best looking at one of our other retailers.

Some helmets are only available from the USA – in which case we’ll give you links through to our recommended retailers over the pond. Note, if you’re outside the US and buy a US helmet to use on the road, it’ll be DOT certified so won’t be road-legal. Often, the only difference is the DOT sticker on the back of a helmet (needs to be ECE) but the law’s the law – we’ll leave it to you whether it’s worth the risk!
Revzilla is a well-known US retailer with a store in Philadelphia. They get amazing ratings – see the table below for the latest scores but at the time of writing that’s 9.8/10 on Reseller Ratings and 4.9/5 on Google customer reviews. While they offer free deliver in the US for orders over $40, there’s a set charge of $40+ for shipping to the UK (plus there may be import duty which you’ll have to pay before your parcel’s delivered). But I guess it can be worth the extra for something that’s a bit unique in Europe.

Riders Domain’s online store has now been merged with Rocky Mountain ATV MC’s (see above) and is discontinued. Rocky Mountain have similar awesome ratings though and we now suggest you check out them if you’re looking to buy a new helmet or other gear.
