MIPS Motorcycle Helmets…
(and other slip-plane protection systems!)
MIPS – along with other slip-plane helmet systems such as Shoei’s MEDS , LS2’s AREM and Bell’s Flex – are designed to let the helmet rotate independently of your head during an impact. They don’t rotate much, but the idea is that it’s enough to stop damaging rotational forces passing through to your head and brain during an accident.
